Is it ok to change ring that was a gift to white gold?

My mom gave me a beautiful diamond ring.. It looks antique style and it has a flower pop up shape idk how to explain it but its nice.. I can tell its an old ring and it is also yellow gold. I like it a lot but I like white gold better.. Would it be okay to get it dipped into white gold? Or would it hurt her feelings? I know she likes yellow gold better. Or keep it traditional? Thanks

You may not get the kind of results you are expecting by dipping your yellow gold ring and having it rhodium plated. It will not be as white as you think. It’s not a matter of hurting her feelings you might consider.
