why do womens girdles have that little diamond patch in the front?
what purpose does it serve?
I’m a guy and have never worn a girdle, but I believe its purpose is to flatten the tummy at that particular point. It is sort of a strong point on the front of the girdle and pulls in the material surrounding it to sort of flatten things there.
My first wife occasionally wore a girdle and I recall that her tummy was flatter at that particular part of the girdle when she was wearing it. After having a baby she sort of needed to contain that part of her body until things got firmed up a bit.
Normally I wouldn’t discuss things like this, but we’ve been divorced for 27 years, so what the heck.
